Thank you Gord

This guy! We want to pause and give a standing ovation to the one and only Gord Twanow, our Head Ice Technician for the past NINE seasons! We have truly been fortunate to have some of the fastest and most consistent curling ice on a day to day basis. The number of travelling players who comment how good our ice is staggering.
Making great ice involves a lot of magic. So much knowledge and care goes into understanding the challenges of an arena, the working of the ice plant, water making machinery, it's on ice equipment, and hourly changes to the environment as temperature and humidity fluctuates. Not to mention making curlers happy, and passing on the magic to his assistants.
So it is with a heavy heart that we bring the news that Gord is moving on. As Gord gets closer to hanging up his duct-taped mac jacket, he is taking on a bit less work, which means our loss is our friends at Campbell River Curling Club's gain, who will now have Gord making their ice exclusively (Gord used to split his time at both clubs).
Personally, I want to thank Gord for the ease of working together, and for the amazing ice. It is a huge part of the success of the CVCC. So thank you Gord!
The CVCC has been on an exhaustive search looking for a new Head Ice Technician to work with our existing amazing crew of assistants, and we'll have some very exciting news to share soon! But in the meantime, cheers to Gord Twanow! All the very best to you and Michelle (and the ice assistant pups!)
