CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY RESULTS! TEAM BOYCE WINS BONSPIEL!
Our Royal LePage Men's Bonspiel wrapped up on Sunday; a fantastic weekend of great curling and camaraderie indeed. Here is the rundown of Event Winners! Of course in any bonspiel there is only one undefeated team, and this years grand champion winner of the Assante A Event was the Boyce rink from Campbell River, who got a lead against our own Richard Tanguay team, and ran well with it. Congratulations to Lyle Boyce, John LaPointe, Don Pennel, & Tom Green!
Winners of the Royal LePage Men's Open Bonspiel, the Lyle Boyce team from Campbell River. Lyle Boyce, John LaPointe, Don Pennel, Tom Green alongside A Event Sponsor Ron Schmidt from Assante Wealth Management
Last year's BC Club Champs the Ron Schmidt team took home the Colonial Countertops B Event , with Ron having to draw full four on last stone to narrowly edge Duffy Simpson's underdog crew, who put up a fine battle.

Winners of the Colonial Countertops B Event, the Ron Schmidt Team. L to R: Darren Richards, Mike Meeres, Norm Cote, and Ron Schmidt
More familiar faces were in the Island Truss C Event, as Campbell River's Dean Thulin took down Brown in the final.

Island Truss C Event Winners (with their guns!) the Dean Thulin Team from Campbell River! Dean Thulin, Ken Dawson, Kevin May, Graeme Boyd alongside Event Sponsor Richard Tanguay from Island Truss.
Some say the D is the next hardest box (to A) to win, so a job well down to Brian Baltis and team for taking home the D Trophy!
D Event Winners the Brian Baltis Team! Brian Baltis, Bob Lee, Mike Francetic, Murray Anderson
So many more thanks to the impeccably organized bonspiel committee and many volunteers, led by Richard Tanguay and Mike Morrissey. This year we had a new element to our bonspiel: the Stihl To Win fundraiser was a creative new twist with teams getting a chance to win a G Note's worth of Stihl power equipment with every stolen end on the ice. Good times? Great times for a great cause, we raised almost $1200 for the Comox Valley Food Bank!
