Sharon Walker Wins Volunteer of the Year

The Duffy Simpson Volunteer of the Award for our 2024/2025 season went to Sharon Walker! For decades Sharon has been a leader in volunteerism in a great variety of ways: As Ladies Club President, prominently helping on numerous league and bonspiel committees, (almost always) the first person to put her hand up to help new curlers and rental groups, tirelessly co-piloting our Adult Learn To Curl program, there for almost every Junior Learn To Curl session, lending her graphic skills to posters and signs, past-President of the CVCC and an amazing leader through the countless challenges we faced curling though the pandemic...and an obvious lover of all things curling. Also, a pretty accomplished curler herself. If something needed to be done for the CVCC, Sharon has always been there. Well done and THANK YOU SHARON! Sharon will be invited to represent the CVCC and Team Canada at next year’s International Tankard.
