Farewell Party for the Holdens

On August 11 a special farewell social was hosted at the CVCC for longtime member volunteers Jack and Mary Holden. The Holdens have departed to be nearer to family in Alberta. Our enormous loss is the St Albert Curling Club's gain!

The party had a great turnout, we were thrilled to celebrate all the Holdens gave in their many years here. Jack has been a kind, resourceful, and dedicated servant of the sport of curling and the CVCC. From youth curlers, to learning adults, to league and bonspiel coordination roles, PCMCA rep, past president, and just that gentleman on the ice in that 80s zig zaggy red, black and white jacket who always is a tough but gentlemanly opponent; there are few members among us who Jack has not helped in some way. Mighty fine people, we can't wait to see them return for bonspiels! Thanks to Sharon Walker, Mickey Colburn, Kim Jonsson and their crew for organizing the party!
