Congratulations to Lana Riva-Crerar who was named the inaugural receipient of the Duffy Simpson Memorial Volunteer of the Year Award!
Lana has been the coordinator and coach for our Junior and Little Rocks program for the past several years. Lana has went above and beyond in providing a safe, fun environment for Juniors aged 6 to 20 to hone their skills and help grow the next generations of both competitive and social curlers. Lana has worked incredibly hard in continuously upgrading her own Instructor and coaching credientials, as well as encouraging all of her coaches to do the same. The program continues to evolve and we look forward to Junior and Little Rock curling having a big 2022/2023 season with Lana at the helm. The Comox Valley Curling Club is proud to honour Lana Riva-Crerar with this award. The award exists because Duffy would do anything to help the club and demonstrated it every week. Lana operates in the same selfless spirit. The CVCC exists because of the hundreds of volunteer members who help run leagues, programs, bonspiels and whatever else they can offer around the building. Thank you to all of these people who give of their time and energy to help the club, and thanks to everyone who nominated others for this award. Thank you Lana!
