2022 Ladies KIA Bonspiel Results

2022 Ladies KIA Bonspiel took place November 25^th - 27^th

And that's a wrap! The Courtenay KIA Ladies Open Bonspiel finished on Sunday November 27, with our very own Keelie Duncan adding to her substantial trophy case by winning the Hairpins Boutique Salon A Event Grand Championship! Congratulations to skip Keelie along with Ashley Fenton, Carley Hardie, and Meredith McCullum. The girls edged out Melanie Rait in an extra end, after both teams won their dramatic semi final games, also in extra ends! So congrats to Melanie, Sarah, Linda, and Kim for an outstanding showing too.

Taking home the Bosley's By Pet Value Courtenay B Event prize was the venerable Sandra Gallaway team! Congrats to Sandra, Elaine Starchuk, Liz Ellis, & Carolyn Walker. Another thrilling final, this one was tied at 8 coming home and Gallaway edged out the Laurie Rippon team. In yet another crazy game, our very own Laina Thurber (with Sylvia Janicki, Tracey Dubnyk, and Chris Rainey) brought the house down with her last shot victory against bonspiel newbies Rolling Stoned to win the Brian McLean GMC, Buick, and Chevrolet Event! Special thanks to bonspiel chair Betsy Terpsma and her amazing crew for making this such a great weekend off and on the ice! Thanks to all 16 teams and all 64 ladies for the fun sixties comraderie and great curling! Thanks to the dozens of vendors at the Winter Market and Sue Fulkerth for organizing! A truly fun weekend!
